About
Çaba (Üstün Çaba Yorulmaz) is a poet, writer, lyricist, composer and musician. He is the son of the journalist, writer and poet Enver Yorulmaz. He graduated from the Department of Public Administration at the Faculty of Economics of Anadolu University in Eskişehir.
He began his artistic life with painting and won his first award in kindergarten. At the age of two he appeared in a bank's advertising campaign promoting savings. He started composing and playing the piano at a young age. He gave his first concert at the age of nine, presented by TRT host Bülent Özveren, on the same stage as Nilüfer in front of 5,000 people.
He broadened his horizons by spending time with figures such as Ahmed Arif, Âşık Mahzuni Şerif, Ahmet Kaya and Barış Manço. He studied folk music at the Hamoy Association under Serbülent Yasun and performed in many concerts, then trained in operatic singing and pop. He served as the Ankara representative of Yeni Çaba magazine.
During his high school and university years he published two books of poetry: "Yıldızlara Baktıkça Beni Anımsa" (2002) and "Kalbimin Sessiz Çığlığı" (2005). In those years he took part in live broadcasts on TRT television and radio. His name appears in İhsan Işık's Encyclopedia of Turkish Writers and Men of Culture.
He began his professional music career in January 2021 with "Nankörsün", which was viewed hundreds of thousands of times. After Alaçatı, Armağan, Baba and Söyle Yar, he shot the music video for "Kibrit" in South Korea. Following the folk song "Sevdan Vurmuş Bir Kere", he shot the video for the Anatolian rock song "Nefes" in Batumi, Georgia; it soon passed one million views. The pop song "Kar" was released in September 2023. He writes both the lyrics and the music of his songs.
He has been a guest on Dreamtürk TV at the Kanal D studios, as well as on Show TV, Beyaz TV, Businesstürk TV and Çay TV, and his music videos have aired on national channels. His songs have entered radio Top 10 charts and he has been among the most requested artists. He has joined more than 100 radio programmes live in Turkey and abroad, and has given concerts in Eskişehir, Istanbul and Ankara.
In 2023 he received the "Most Notable Male Artist of the Year" award from Tuğba Özay at the 4th International Golden Media Awards. The same year, at the 4th International Success and Career Awards led by Dreamtürk TV, he received the "Most Successful Artist of the Year" award from Ece Erken and Onur Kırış. "Kar" also earned him the "Best Breakthrough Song of the Year" award. He is a member of MESAM (Turkish Musical Work Owners' Society).
After Eros, Araf, Annem, Mesela, Mesela Remix, Alaçatı Vol2, Mecnun, Sen Olsan and Türkiyem, his nine-track album "Bundan Sonra" is released on Spotify on 30 October 2026.
